Sentence to picture matching task
Series of 64 illustrations made for the department of Linguistics at Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main.
The purpose of this experiment is to assess children's ability to understand and process specific sentences, examining how they interpret language in relation to visual stimuli.
The study aims to explore the cognitive mechanisms involved in sentence comprehension, specifically how children match verbal descriptions to corresponding images.
To achieve this, the experiment is structured around a sentence-to-picture matching task. In this task, children are presented with an auditory stimulus—a sentence—and are asked to select or associate it with the correct drawing or picture that best represents the meaning of the sentence.
